Ceramic Garden Pot

Full Class

(FULL) Work in pairs to create a whimsical flower pot from clay. Learn through the fun process of forming your pot and applying texture. Then paint with your choice of glaze colors. Pots will be fired off-site for later pick-up.

Astronomy Night: The Spring Skies

This class has been rescheduled to MAY 2nd. Any questions, please call Molly at 616-975-3184. Take a tour of the night skies with astronomer, Jim Foerch. Observe through telescopes and build a planisphere to predict the timing of constellations. Listen to sories about springtime constellations and learn how ancient farmers used the constellations.

Grandma and Me: Make a Garden Stone

Full Class

Work together arranging colorful rocks, shells,glass, and more in mosaic patterns to create a permanent stone for your garden. Learn about patterns as you plan your design on paper, then mix the cement and embed the materials. Voila! A garden stone to enjoy together.

Build a Garden in a Box

Full Class

Have fun building a garden in a box together. Construct a simple 2’ X 2’ wooden box and fill it with soil. Divide the box into four areas and plant with seeds and starter plants. Leave with an instant garden and tend it together all summer long!

Hunt for plants used to make gum, chocolate, baskets, flooring and musical instruments. Make an edible sculpture out of colorful vegetables. Then take home a tomato plant in your own decorated pot and tend it all summer long. [June 10 class is full]
