Winter in the Children’s Garden can be chilly, but fun! Bundle up and join us on an outdoor interactive discovery walk to investigate the Children’s Garden in new ways.
Even though he knows who has been naughty or nice, Santa welcomes all visitors to share their holiday wishes and take a picture with him on a sleigh in the Cook Entryway.
Visit us in the Leslie E. Tassell English Perennial and Bulb Garden where you’ll get an up close look at Santa’s reindeer and have the opportunity to pet Dasher, Dancer and the rest of Santa’s flight crew.

Have fun building a garden in a box together. Construct a simple 2’ X 2’ wooden box and fill it with soil. Divide the box into four areas and plant with seeds and starter plants. Leave with an instant garden and tend it together all summer long!

Venture outdoors to capture the beauty of our waterfalls, and discover the versatility of watercolor pencils. Learn about composition, shading and blending, layering colors from subtle to intense, and achieving fine detail. Be prepared to walk a quarter mile to and from the waterfalls. In inclement weather, the class will be held indoors.
