In grateful commemoration of the generosity of Richard and Helen DeVos and Fred and Lena Meijer, along with our many generous donors, we will mark the foundational beginning of the Japanese Garden on Tuesday, October 9. At 2 pm, President and CEO David Hooker, Consul General of Japan Kuninori Matsuda and Designer Hoichi Kurisu will each make remarks. A short film showing Hoichi Kurisu placing the first foundational boulder on site will be shown. Immediately following, special behind-the-scenes, narrated tram tours overlooking the construction site will be offered with the last tour beginning at 7:30 pm. Don’t miss this rare opportunity!
