Their sound has been described as “low-fi” and “vintage Velvet-Underground tinged rock.” The Fainting Generals prefer to describe their genre as “rock/surf/glam/garage/retro/historical re-enactment.” Together since 2008, they play originals with narrative lyrics on topics ranging from the historical to current. Their latest release is Everybody Drinks Kombucha in Hell.
The versatile Chance Jones started as a solo act, added a band to get a gig and has earned a reputation in Grand Rapids as one the “unique musical talents.” The sound is catchy, lyric-centered, high-energy rock, influenced by the likes of the Beatles, CBGB, Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie and Motown. Their latest release (available on vinyl and CD) is The Incident at Primrose and West.
