Drawing Self-Portraits

Full Class

Work with ArtPrize winner, Chris LaPorte, to create a self-portrait in charcoal. Explore the effects of light and shadow, how the pattern of shapes creates volume and the correct proportions for self-portraits. Two-part class - March 26 AND April 2.

Imagine your favorite fictional creature or wild animal—in clay! Learn to get the effects you want by mixing clay colors and using garlic presses and other unusual tools. Place your creature in a fantasy habitat you design. Class also available on April 8 from 10 am to noon.
