Food and Beverages
Food and beverages—such as hot dogs, sandwiches, snacks, soft drinks, water, beer, and wine—will be available for purchase at the amphitheater concessions area for the Outdoor Summer Concert Series.
To accommodate for the large concession lines in years past, two more concession lines will be added. Merchandise sales will be relocated to a tent outside of the Concession Building.
In addition, two beverage stations will be located behind the East and West Terraces. These stations will serve a limited selection of beer and wine, as well as bottled water. Please note: these stations will accept cash only. For Tuesday Evening Music Club concerts, food and beverages will be available for purchase at the amphitheater concessions area and at the Taste of the Gardens Café, which is located inside the main building.
You may bring water in sealed, non-glass containers to enjoy during concerts.
Alcohol may not be brought on the premises. Our liquor license permits the sale of beer and wine at concerts, but does not allow any alcohol to be brought onto the property. All alcoholic beverages will be confiscated if brought on site.
Picnic baskets, bags and purses may be subject to security searches.
Seating at Concerts
All seating is general admission lawn seating.
Meijer Gardens made significant renovations to the amphitheater in 2011 and 2012, which includes changes to its chair policy. These changes ensure that everyone has a comfortable seat without obstructing the views of other concertgoers.
Any low-back chair measuring 12" or less from the ground to the front of the seat bottom and 31" to the top of the chair back in its highest position will be allowed.
Looking for a chair? We have several options for comfortable seating:
- Purchase a low-rise chair at the Meijer Gardens gift shop ($49.49 + tax for Members / $54.99 + tax for Non-Members) or at the amphitheater ($52 tax included for Members / $58 tax included for Non-Members). We offer a high-quality "GCI Wilderness Recliner" with our logo.
- Rent a standard-height plastic venue chair for $5 (quantities limited). Pay at the box office, then bring this chair to one of the designated seating areas.
- Visit local retail stores to find a chair that meets the above requirements.
Note: Several popular chairs measure 31.5" from the ground to top of chair back (some "Tommy Bahama" chairs and other brands). These will allowed, but as long as the chair back measures less than 32" to the top and 12" in front of seat bottom. Any chair more than 32" will not be allowed.
All shows are rain or shine.
If there is either a watch or warning (tornado or lightning storm) for our area, the concert will be canceled. If a concert is underway and a lightning storm or tornado situation arises during the concert, the concert may need to end, and there will be no refunds. The decision to continue a concert after adverse weather passes will be determined on a case-by-case basis, based on consultation with appropriate weather experts.
Gate times and show times vary. Please check your tickets for specific show information.
Each artists photography policy varies per concert. Videoing concerts and SLR (removable lens) cameras are prohibited. "Point-and-shoot" cameras are allowed unless otherwise stated.
Meijer Gardens is a non-smoking facility and smoking inside concert gates is prohibited.
We are also an accessible facility and proudly comply with ADA regulations. Guests with medical or mobility issues may request specials consideration for seating by visiting the box office window.
