Albert Ernst Carrier-Belleuse was well known for his portraits in terra-cotta and bronze. Auguste Rodin was his apprentice in the 1860’s–70’s. Autumn Lovers is a neo-classical style piece representing the autumn season through imagery like the cornucopia, leaves and grapes.
