Whereas some of Beverly Pepper's drawings are preparatory in anticipation of specific sculptures, others are reflections after a completed project. This is a powerful example of the latter. This drawing was made after her iconic work, Goliath's Wedge, which is in the renowned collection of the Albright Knox Museum in Buffalo, York. Pepper's rendering of former is masterful, and her palette suggests the color of the forged metal of the sculpture.
