World-renowned gardeners, artists, authors, and speakers.

The Master Lecture Series brings world-renowned gardeners, artists, authors and speakers to Meijer Gardens each spring and fall. Held in the Grand Room, lectures are free for members and included with admission for non-members.

Secchia Garden Lecture

In April, Meijer Gardens hosts the Secchia Garden Lecture, which features internationally recognized gardeners speaking on a variety of horticultural topics. Past presenters include Paula Hayes, Sydney Eddison and Adrian Bloom.

C. Schoenknecht & W. Paul Sculpture Lecture

Each October, the C. Schoenknecht & W. Paul Sculpture Lecture brings to Meijer Gardens an internationally acclaimed sculptor to speak about his or her work. Often, the speaker has work on display in the permanent collection. Past sculptors include David Nash, Bernar Venet and Beverly Pepper.

Great Authors Lecture

Every other autumn, an author writing on topics regarding the mission of Meijer Gardens presents a related lecture. Recent authors include Alexandra Fuller, Jorie Graham and Ian Frazier.

Wege Environmental Lecture

The Wege Environmental lecture presents speakers and topics related to the natural environment. The last speaker was Lee Stetson as conservationist John Muir.
