The scouting tradition emphasizes a love of nature, an appreciation of the arts and a commitment to the good stewardship of the environment. Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park shares these values and is pleased to support the Girl and Boy Scouts of America through discounted admission rates and special programs.
Registration & Rates
Troops must meet the 10 person minimum and pre-register at least two weeks in advance to receive this special Scout Troop rate. Email our Field Trip Department at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (616) 977-7683.
These rates are valid throughout the year and include admission to all areas and exhibition:
No charge for member adults (must present membership card upon check-in)
- $3.50 per scout or sibling
- $3.50 per scout leader (maximum 2 registered leaders per troop)
- $8.00 per additional adult chaperone
- No charge for children 2 years and under
Cancellation policy: withdraw less than 7 days prior to the event—no refund.
Prices are good through December 2015.
Earn a Meijer Gardens Patch
Scout troops will discover fun and surprising things about birds as they explore Meijer Gardens using our “Take Flight with Birds” guide and exploration sheet. Scouts will visit a variety of habitats, including the Tropical Conservatory, wetlands, woods and Michigan's Farm Garden as they search for birds and examine bird sculptures, too. Dress for the weather and allow 2 ½ to 3 hours to complete the activities.
Patches are available from May through February.

- $5.00 per scout
- $3.50 for up to two leaders
- $8.00 per additional adult

Explore Christmas & Holiday Traditions around the World
Monday, November 30, 2015 from 4-8 pm
$5 for each Scout and sibling; $3.50 for each leader (up to two leaders per troop); $8 for additional adults (member adults are free with id); children ages two and under are free.
Scouts will have exclusive use of our facility as they discover holiday traditions from around the world along with dazzling lights, hundreds of festive holiday plants, and an intricately detailed Railway Garden. This year they will have fun learning how families in Grand Rapids’ five Sister Cities celebrate the holidays. Scouts will also make a miniature piñata to take home. Allow 1 ½ to 2 hours for your visit and reserve a check-in time between 4 and 6 pm. The cost includes all materials and admission; a badge is not included.

Meet the Butterflies—and Caterpillars, Too!
Sunday, February 28, 2016 from 10 am–2 pm
Explore the Tropical Conservatory to discover stunning tropical butterflies and observe their fascinating behaviors; see chrysalises and monarch caterpillars up close; visit our “Scouts Only” room and participate in a special art activity. Allow two hours for your visit and reserve a check-in time between 10 am and noon. The cost includes all materials and admission; a badge is not included.
