Gwen Frostic Woodland Shade Garden

Plants That Provide Year-Round Interest and Perform Best in Shady Conditions

Named for Michigan native Gwen Frostic, the Woodland Shade Garden portrays examples of the artist's favorite subjects: indigenous plants and animals. Spring provides a fresh color palette as native trout lilies, daffodils, wildflowers and flowering shrubs burst into bloom. Tall trees provide a canopy of shade in summer months, when hydrangeas, hostas and fringed bleeding hearts offer a feast for the eyes.
