Join Maggie Conklin, of Heirloom Academy, as you learn more about the abundance of “wild foods” in Southwest Michigan and discover how sustainable foraging can be a powerful way to deepen your connection with the natural environment. A combination of outdoor and classroom instruction highlighting the seasonal identification and ethnobotany of these plants will challenge participants’ thinking on what makes a plant a weed. All class participants will receive information and resources to guide future foraging endeavors.
Bring a notebook and dress for the weather. Expect a fair amount of standing and walking.
