Provide support through food production and distribution of products and services for the James and Shirley Balk Cafe. Maintain food sanitation, quality standards and effective communication. Reflect the established standards for quality, productivity, professionalism, and customer service. As an intern in the Guest Services Department this position will learn to assist with the Fifth Third Bank Summer Concert Series. Through all of these services, establish customer service qualities and traits to ensure a quality experience for our guests, volunteers, and staff. Schedule is dependent on the Fifth Third Bank Summer Concert Series schedule.

The Hospitality Intern will learn to sell, plan, organize, and coordinate events and catering ranging from weddings, corporate, other social events, conferences and trade shows and the like. Will work in office and “on the floor”. Will learn to use hospitality software that includes event & catering management, accounting and diagramming. The Hospitality Intern will assist the department from origination to execution of events ensuring a quality experience for our guests by delivering outstanding customer service.

The Volunteer Resources Intern will work on a wide variety of Volunteer Management projects. The Intern will receive real-world experience and work samples to build their professional portfolio. The ideal candidate will bring fresh ideas to the team and actively engage with the organization. The Volunteer Resources Intern will gain knowledge of the importance of volunteers in a non-profit organization along with a better understanding of non-profit administration day-to-day operations. For the summer semester, the Volunteer Resources Intern will focus on volunteer functions and sustainability at our Summer Concerts Series and Tuesday Evening Music Club.
