Full-Time

Provide inspirational leadership and management to the Philanthropy and Membership departments, and actively participate in the management team and serve as a staff liaison to the Board of Directors and to committees of the board as related to this position. The Director will take a lead role in stewardship and ensuring we honor all gifts.

Position is responsible for making sure Meijer Gardens facilities are in outstanding condition each day and night as relates to cleaning and arrangement per building layouts and event diagrams.

Responsible for overseeing and managing the Facility Attendants activities across three shifts, seven days a week. Coordinate resources to meet the needs of various departments and the organization as a whole.

Specific but not limited to the Tassell-Wisner-Bottrall English Perennial Garden. Performs all duties associated with design, maintenance, and care of collections. Oversees the day-to-day responsibilities of display presentation, plant care, and volunteer assignments. Maintains additional garden areas as directed by Horticulture Lead. Focuses on skills and techniques directly pertaining to each garden area’s aesthetic, paying close attention to details, and maintaining design intent.

Specific but not limited to The Richard & Helen DeVos Japanese Garden. Performs all duties associated with design, maintenance, and care of collections. Oversees the day-to-day responsibilities of display presentation, plant care, and volunteer assignments. Maintains Bonsai collection through plant health care and detailed record keeping. Focuses on skills and techniques directly pertaining to the Japanese Garden aesthetic, paying close attention to details, and maintaining design intent.

Part-Time

Responsible for day-to-day guest service functions performed at Admissions, Monitor, Information Desk and Amphitheatre Box Office. Responsible for building-wide opening and closing procedures, emergency procedures, front-line decision making and ensuring good communications to the guests and Meijer Gardens’ staff and volunteers. Schedule will include weekends and weekday hours. Schedule will vary rotating weekends are required.
