Fred and Lena Meijer always loved gardens and sculpture. Since 1995, they shared their love of thought-provoking and beautiful art and green spaces with more than 13 million visitors, through Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park.
This legacy continues to resonate within the West Michigan community and as an iconic cultural institution regionally, nationally and internationally. The institution’s growth is a testament to something distinctly human: the need for beauty, to connect with nature and the arts, and to gather as a community.
We strongly believe our growth will continue and this great institution will thrive for decades and generations to come. At its very essence, Meijer Gardens is a place of joy. It’s a legacy of love shared by Fred and Lena Meijer, the Meijer family, and thousands of employees, volunteers, and donors who have created a special corner of the world—one that is Always Growing. Always Beautiful. Always New.
Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park brings joy to guests every season of the year—and your support makes it all possible. With the financial gifts of a supportive community, Meijer Gardens provides programming, exhibitions, events and collections for nearly 750,000 guests annually.

Gifts in honor of an individual or organization acknowledge special occasions or special traits that we admire. Gifts in memory of a special someone express our need to keep their spirit alive. Gifts in tribute to Meijer Gardens recognize your support of our mission. Books, trees, benches, and sculpture sites are available to help you honor or memorialize an individual or organization. Please note, as part of our Welcoming the World: Honoring a Legacy of Love expansion project, the Ram’s Garden, Tassell-Wisner-Bottrall English Perennial Garden and Volunteer Tribute Garden have been reimagined and expanded. Existing benches and trees will be relocated to the appropriate garden.
