We welcome your support

Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park brings joy to guests every season of the year—and your support makes it all possible. With the financial gifts of a supportive community, Meijer Gardens provides programming, exhibitions, events and collections for nearly 750,000 guests annually.

Why You should donate

A Legacy Of Love

Fred and Lena Meijer always loved gardens and sculpture. Since 1995, they shared their love of thought-provoking and beautiful art and green spaces with more than 13 million visitors, through Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park.

This legacy continues to resonate within the West Michigan community and as an iconic cultural institution regionally, nationally and internationally. The institution’s growth is a testament to something distinctly human: the need for beauty, to connect with nature and the arts, and to gather as a community.

We strongly believe our growth will continue and this great institution will thrive for decades and generations to come. At its very essence, Meijer Gardens is a place of joy. It’s a legacy of love shared by Fred and Lena Meijer, the Meijer family, and thousands of employees, volunteers, and donors who have created a special corner of the world.

Annual Fund

Keep Meijer Gardens growing by providing support for general expenses associated with daily operations. Annual fund contributions offer vital support to help provide quality programs, exhibitions and events. For additional information, please contact Julia Van Fleet at 616-975-3177.

Amway-Meijer, Inc. Fund for Education

Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park has created a new endowment fund: the Amway-Meijer, Inc. Fund for Education. Benefiting underserved elementary school-aged children, this fund will provide the necessary financial resources for children to visit Meijer Gardens for a professionally-led educational art and horticulture experience. To make a donation to our Amway-Meijer, Inc. Fund for Education, please contact Jennifer Bell at 616-975-3170 or make a contribution online here. Gifts of all sizes are important and much appreciated!

Tribute gifts express so many things: friendship, appreciation, love and support, to name a few. Gifts in honor of an individual or organization acknowledge special occasions or special traits that we admire. Gifts in memory of a special someone express our need to keep their spirit alive. Gifts in tribute to Meijer Gardens recognize your support of our mission. Books, trees, benches, and sculpture sites are available to help you honor or memorialize an individual or organization. To learn more about how to get started, please email [email protected].

Please note, as part of our Welcoming the World: Honoring a Legacy of Love expansion project, the Ram’s Garden, Tassell-Wisner-Bottrall English Perennial Garden and Volunteer Tribute Garden have been reimagined and expanded. Existing benches and trees will be relocated to the appropriate garden. Names and sentiments previously etched into bricks and stepping stones will now be honored on bronze plaques which are much more durable than the previous bricks. Your support is much appreciated. Please contact our Philanthropy department at (616) 974-5242 if you have any questions.

Originally established as the Michigan Botanic Garden Foundation, The Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Foundation is a single-purpose foundation with the goal of creating an endowment fund to support Meijer Gardens, a world-class organization.

The Foundation accepts general endowment fund contributions as well as funds designated by the donor for restricted use. For more information, please call Susanne Veeneman at (616) 791-3901 or visit the website
