Equal Intervals, Equal Elevations
Equal Intervals, Equal Elevations
Universally recognized as among the most influential sculptors working today, Richard Serra’s pioneering use of industrial materials and careful incorporation of site are without parallel. His repertoire is related to both Minimalism and Land Art. Equal Intervals, Equal Elevations is composed of four geometric blocks of forged steel similar in width and depth, but in one foot variations in height. Serra meticulously placed the blocks equal distance apart from one another in the hillside so the site and space became a vital element of the work.
