This large granite carving by Anish Kapoor is one of but a few outdoor stone pieces by the internationally acclaimed sculptor. While the back and side panels are carved at varying degrees of roughness, the frontal plane features three highly polished circular disks that reflect the surrounding environment with mirror precision. Kapoor's sensitivity to materials and ability to search and discover the potential of that material is universally celebrated. Such exploration of materials, and surfaces that encourage reflection and introspection, are in sympathy with the design aesthetics for The Richard & Helen DeVos Japanese Garden.
