Photos for personal use are welcome. Please see our Photo Policy for more information on professional photography and scheduling a photo shoot for weddings, prom, senior photos, etc.

Pets are not allowed. Properly trained service animals are welcome.

Yes! We have a limited number of lockers available on a first-come, first-served basis. Lockers are located in the coat room just inside of the Welcome Center.

Yes, tickets for adults are $6 per person, $3.50 for children 3–13. Children 2 and younger are free. Tickets are available at the Peter C. & Emajean Cook Transportation Center. 

Individual tram passes must be exchanged for tram tickets, and punch cards must be punched and redeemed for a ticket at the Cook Transportation Center.

Please email [email protected] with a description of your item and the date/time of your visit. We maintain a lost and found at the main ticketing desk at the Daniel and Pamella DeVos Ticketing Center in the Welcome Center.

Shirts and shoes are required at all times.

We are a smoke-free environment. Smoking of any kind, including e-cigarettes, vapes or similar devices, is not permitted. There is a designated smoking area outside of the Frederik Meijer Gardens Amphitheater during Fifth Third Bank Summer Concerts at Meijer Gardens shows.

Due to Michigan state law, no outside alcohol may be brought onto the grounds. Outside alcohol will be confiscated. Violators will be asked to leave the premises. A selection of beer and wine is available in the James & Shirley Balk Cafe and can be enjoyed throughout the facility.

Tickets can be purchased both online and in person at the Daniel and Pamella DeVos Ticketing Center located in the Welcome Center. Purchase tickets online here. 

Members can enjoy streamlined admission by heading directly to the Entry Desk with their physical or digital membership card and photo ID.

As part of the Museums for All program, EBT/WIC cardholders qualify for a reduced admission of $2 per person, for up to four people. This discount is available during normal operating hours and is not available online. Please show your EBT/WIC card along with photo ID at the Daniel and Pamella DeVos Ticketing Center.

Yes! A current membership card from the American Horticultural Society (join now) or from a garden participating in our Reciprocal Admissions Program (RAP) entitles you to special admission privileges and discounts* at 345+ gardens throughout North America, including Meijer Gardens. Please call 888-957-1580 with specific questions regarding reciprocal admissions.

Yes! Please inquire at the Daniel and Pamella DeVos Ticketing Center for more information on how to apply your single ticket purchase to a membership.

Indoor and outdoor spaces are barrier-free and accessible, with ramps and paved pathways to accommodate wheelchairs and strollers and allow easy maneuverability.

Personal motorized wheelchairs, electric scooters and wheelchairs are welcome.

Complimentary wheelchairs and Electric Convenience Vehicles (ECVs) are available inside the Welcome Center.

We offer a limited number of complementary wheelchairs and ECVs for guests to use on a first-come, first-served basis. Please see a staff member or volunteer for assistance.

Yes! Reciprocal privileges with other gardens, arboreta, and conservatories nationwide are offered through the American Horticultural Society. Click here to find a garden that is part of this program.

Admission benefits of the American Horticultural Society Reciprocal Admission Program allows free admission to the named card holder(s), or in the case of a household type of membership, two free admissions. Only one reciprocal membership will be allowed per visit. Please call if you have specific questions regarding the reciprocal program, as details may vary from your home institution. Per program guidelines, reciprocal benefits are not extended to organizations within 90 miles of Meijer Gardens.

Gift memberships can be purchased online! Simply select JOIN at the level that you are interested in gifting and you will see a button titled Give As A Gift.

Gift memberships begin on the date of purchase and are active through the end of that month the following year. If you would prefer to have the membership cards mailed to you so that you can present as a gift rather than be mailed directly to the gift recipient, please email [email protected].

Renewals of gift memberships can also be handled over the phone by contacting the membership department at 616-977-7689, at the Main Admissions Desk, or by mail.

If you upgrade within 3 months of your membership expiring, you can renew early at higher level. You will pay the full fee for the upgraded level and receive those benefits right away, expiration date would extend for a full year.

If you upgrade when expiration is more than 3 months away you will pay the difference between the two levels. Expiration date remains the same as original expiration date.

Please Note: We do not prorate the upgraded fee based on the months remaining with their current membership. It is based solely on the membership fee itself.

There are several ways to renew your membership: 

  • Website: The easiest way to renew or upgrade your membership anytime. Access your account here and provide your member ID and last name to access your account. Email [email protected] to make any changes to the account information.
  • By Mail: If you received a renewal notice by mail, you can complete and mail your membership renewal to us. Send the payment and form in the envelope provided or to Membership Team c/o Frederick Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park 1000 East Beltline NE. Grand Rapids, MI 49252.
  • In Person: On your next visit stop by the Daniel and Pamella DeVos Ticketing Center to renew or update your membership information.
  • Phone: Call our membership team at 616-977-7689 to start your renewal process. 

Outside food and non-alcoholic beverages are welcome, but must be consumed at either the Meijer-Shedleski Picnic Pavilion or in the Lievense Indoor Eating Area. No outside food or beverages are allowed in the Balk Café.

Please do not picnic in areas at Meijer Gardens other than the Meijer-Shedleski Picnic Pavilion or Lievensee Indoor Eating Area.

Enjoy lunch (or dinner on Tuesday evenings) at the James & Shirley Balk Café. With an emphasis on local products, Meijer Gardens' globally inspired menu changes with the seasons and features sandwiches, salads, small bites and a kid’s menu. You’ll find a colorful variety of beverages including soft drinks, juices, coffee, tea, wine and a selection of Michigan craft beers. Guests could sit indoors in the colorful climate of Lena’s Garden or enjoy the picturesque water fountain and changing seasons of the outdoor Grand Rapids Press Terrace. Complimentary Wi-Fi available.

Feel free to bring a picnic basket to enjoy during a concert – anything from cheese and crackers to takeout is allowed. No glass is allowed.

Outside alcohol may not be brought onto our grounds.

NOTE: Glass containers and packaging are strictly prohibited inside the Frederik Meijer Gardens Amphitheater. Picnic baskets, coolers, bags and purses are subject to security searches.

We have a variety of affordable and delicious food options at the Eileen DeVries Concessions Center, located inside the gates. There’s something to satisfy most any appetite during the show! All guests ages 21+ who wish to purchase alcohol will need to show an ID, regardless of age, and receive a wristband. 

PLEASE NOTE: Due to space limitations, portable picnic tables of any size are not allowed.

Guests may bring beverages in factory-sealed, nonglass containers such as soda cans, plastic water bottles, juice boxes and other unopened beverage packaging.

Empty reusable water bottles may be filled at the inside water filling stations.

Beer, wine, specialty drinks and nonalcoholic beverages are available at the Eileen DeVries Concessions Center. All guests planning to consume alcohol will have their ID checked at entry and will be required to wear a wristband for service.

Alcohol may not be brought onto the premises, including parking lots. Our liquor license permits the sale of beer, wine and specialty drinks at concerts; it does not allow outside alcohol to be brought onto the property.

All outside alcoholic beverages found on site will be confiscated and guests may be asked to leave.

Coolers sized up to 48 quarts are allowed inside the Frederik Meijer Gardens Amphitheater. All coolers are subject to a security search.

 

PLEASE NOTE: Due to space limitations, wagons and portable picnic tables of any size are not allowed.

All seating is general admission, with first-come, first-served terraced lawn seating. Low-back chairs and blankets are welcomed. We suggest lining up earlier than the gate time for better seating opportunities. Children 2 and under do not need a ticket.

Our chair height policy allows all guests to enjoy views from every spot on the Frederik Meijer Gardens Amphitheater hill. The policy permits any low-back chair measuring 12" or less from the ground to the front of the seat bottom and 32" to the top of the chair back in its highest position. Chair height restrictions do not apply during the Ayers Basement Systems Tuesday Evening Music Club.

PLEASE NOTE: Wagons and inflatable chairs or couches that are higher than 12" from the ground at any point are not permitted.

Strollers must be folded down when in amphitheater seating area. Please see security if you need a place to store your stroller during the show.

Blankets may be used for seating. Please be courteous of other guests by not saving larger-than-needed amounts of grass.

Our chair height policy is enforced to aid in the enjoyment of guests viewing the concerts in all areas.

If you need a chair, consider renting a standard-height plastic venue chair for $10 (quantities limited). Chair rentals are available only during Fifth Third Bank Summer Concerts at Meijer Gardens.

Pay at the box office, then bring this chair to one of the rented chairs’ designated seating areas. Designated seating areas are located on each side of the Frederik Meijer Gardens Amphitheater.

Chair rentals are available for standard-sized white plastic chairs during Fifth Third Bank Summer Concerts at Meijer Gardens shows. Rentals are $10 each and available in a first come, first serve basis.

To rent a chair, pay at the Box Office before lining up for the show and pick up chairs at the Box Office or inside the gates near the merchandise booth.

Chair rentals are not available during Ayers Basement Systems Tuesday Evening Music Club concerts.

Rental chairs are to be placed in designated seating areas in the Amphitheater. PLEASE NOTE: These areas are first-come, first-served seating.

The Sponsored Seating section is in the Steve and Amy Van Andel East and West Terraces—a special area for sponsors, at the top of the Frederik Meijer Gardens Amphitheater. Currently, all seats are filled. If you wish to be placed on the waiting list (which numbers more than 120 individuals), please contact our Philanthropy Department at 616-975-3177 for more information.

Concerts take place rain or shine! Bring your ponchos and smaller umbrellas if there’s a high probability of rain. Please be courteous to your neighbors. Do not block their views with large or golf umbrellas while the concert is underway.

 

Our weather policy states: If there is inclement weather in our area, the concert will be delayed until the threat has passed. The decision to continue a concert after adverse weather passes will be determined on a case-by-case basis, based on consultation with appropriate weather experts. If a storm or tornado situation arises and the concert needs to end, there will be no refunds.

 

If there is a weather delay, signs will be placed near the box office to update guests. We will also update our website and social media as soon as we receive information regarding potential delays, rescheduling or cancelation.

Each artist has their own photography policy, pertaining to guests and media alike. Meijer Gardens helps enforce these policies by prohibiting all SLR / detachable-lens cameras, iPads, and video-recording / live streaming devices. Typically, still photography is allowed with nonprofessional cameras or phones.

 

Please be considerate of guests around you when taking photos.

It is our intent to make the concert experience enjoyable for every guest. The Frederik Meijer Gardens Amphitheater is an accessible facility and proudly exceeds ADA regulations. Guests with medical or mobility issues may visit the Box Office window to request special consideration for seating.

If seating in low chairs will be a mobility issue, a limited quantity of standard-height white plastic chairs are available to rent ($10). To rent a chair: Make your payment at the Box Office, pick up your chair nearby and take it to one of the designated seating areas. Our staff and volunteers can assist with this process as well.

Barrier-free areas are marked in blue, at the left and right top sections of the Amphitheater hill. Guests wishing to sit in one of these areas may be accompanied by one companion (or more, if room is available). Guests in wheelchairs have priority. A limited number of Meijer Gardens wheelchairs are available for use during concerts at no charge.

Guests may line up outside the gates as early as they please! For more popular shows, many guests arrive several hours before gates open. Placing an empty chair or a “place holder” is not allowed. Guests must be physically present to reserve their spot in line. The amphitheater box office opens at 4 pm.

Gates for Ayers Basement Systems Tuesday Evening Music Club concerts open at 5 pm.
