Originally trained as a painter, Bob Guelich has long had a love of the natural world. It was through sculpture that he felt he could best express his passion for images of animals. Autumn Breeze is among one of the artist’s most dramatic works, in part owing to its over life-size scale. Such impressive exaggerations of form allow the details of the sculpture to be discerned even from a distance. Perhaps most dramatic are the deep cavities which accentuate shadow within and light around.
