George Rickey

Five Lines Diagonal Jointed II

The prodigious, prolific George Rickey developed an artistic oeuvre synonymous with kinetic art. Created within a vocabulary of abstract, geometric forms and stainless steel, Rickey’s body of work became among the most iconic in American sculpture. His engineering revolved largely around the use of ball bearings and meticulous calculations for his designs. This large-scale sculpture, the second by the artist to enter the Meijer Gardens collection, was a favorite of Fred Meije
