Lee Ufan

Relatum Forest Path

Though born in Korea, Lee Ufan established his career in Japan. He was one of the leading figures in the Japanese avant-garde movement “mono-ha” before finding international success. This commissioned, site-specific piece was a first for the Gwen Frostic Woodland Shade Garden. It is a classic example of the artist’s Relatum series, juxtaposing the naturally found and industrial encountered. Ufan specifically chose all materials used in this piece.
