Marshall Fredericks

Acrobat Clown, Lovesick Clown, Juggler Clown

Marshall Fredericks completed a series of three clowns and here you can see them grouped in conversation with each other. Juggler Clown is in the act of juggling, with one of the balls balanced on his nose. Clowns have been around since ancient times and are represented throughout the ages. The purpose of the clown is to entertain by displaying emotions that run the gamut of human emotion through exaggeration. Acrobat Clown possesses all the characteristic attributes normally associated with clowns, such as the outfit and painted face. You can also see a small dog balanced on the palms of his hands. Compared to the other two clowns in this grouping, Lovesick Clown represents darker emotions and meaning. This clown has his head down to the side and shoulders slumped and appears almost anxious or even defeated.
