American-born sculptor Chakaia Booker has always collected discarded items and brought them back to her studio to create her art. After first creating wearable art, Booker then turned to sculpture using found objects. Urban Excursion, created out of recycled tires, is sited next to Rendezvous—another sculpture by the artist using tires as the medium. Undoubtedly, her work with recycled tires is best known.
