Marshall Fredericks served in the US military during World War II. Upon his discharge from the Air Force in 1945, he returned to sculpture and was commissioned to create a number of war memorials. Victory Eagle was one such memorial. Over the course of his long, illustrious career, Fredericks created several variations around the symbolic eagle.
