This position is a support position for the Taste of the Gardens Café.  Responsible for assisting with sales, food production, floor support and customer service through use of the organization’s Guiding Principles.  Required to work independently as well as with effective direction and support for other staff members, volunteers, and vendors.

This position is responsible for making sure Meijer Gardens facilities are in outstanding condition each day and night as relates to cleaning and arrangement per building layouts and event diagrams.

Responsible for setting up, stocking, serving and dismantling catering and, or beverage services for the Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Parks’ Food and Beverage Department.  Required to work independently as well as with effective direction and support for other staff members, volunteers, and vendors.

Seasonal and Internships

We are seeking an energetic, detail-oriented student in his/her junior or senior year to join our Communications team. The unpaid internship is approximately 20–25 hours per week. The intern should be majoring in communications, public relations, marketing, advertising, journalism or related field. An interest in gardening, sculpture and/or the arts is preferred. Unpaid, part-time, day shift, start/end dates flexible (summer intern may need to work some evening concerts).

Education Interns will interact with children and adults in a variety of engaging activities and assist the efforts of the Education department through planning, facilitating, and evaluating various programs.

Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park is seeking a hospitality intern for late Spring and Summer months in 2018. The intern will work a varied schedule, including evenings and weekends, of approximately 20 hours per week. The Hospitality Intern will assist the Hospitality Department in showing, touring event spaces, assist with phone inquiries, plan, organize, coordinate, and execute events ranging from corporate meetings/outings, social, trade shows, wedding ceremonies and receptions. The Hospitality Intern will work in office and “on the floor” in addition to learning to use event management and diagramming software. The Hospitality Intern will assist the department from origination to execution by providing outstanding customer service for our guests.

The Seasonal Gardener (Intern) will assist with the maintenance of indoor and outdoor gardens and displays. The work schedule will include a rotation of weekends and holidays, which will involve some greenhouse, grounds maintenance and landscaping responsibilities. 40 hours per week (up to 12-16 weeks). Beginning April to May and ending mid to late August.
